Welcome to the glamorous world of modeling. This is a dimension where people are not aloud to indulge in needs such as food. Men and women are tall and beautiful, yet lack intellectual prowess. While most careers require brain cells and hard work, this industry revolves around appearances. So what do you think thus far? Okay, I admit; I'm being a bit tough on the model talent industry. It's not always like what you see in "Zoolander." That was somewhat of a parody on the cut-throat industry we all love to hate. In reality, not all models are idiots. Not all agents are jerks. And a few fashion designers are straight. Actually that last part was a lie. I just wanted to make sure you're paying attention.

Tons of individuals like yourself try their hand in the fashion world. After all, it is indeed a big business with plenty of capital to be made. Maybe you wish to pursue a model talent career, a fashion design route, or a smaller role in an agency. The key to doing well in this business is really loving it. Many of these folks eat, sleep and breathe fashion. I recently caught a glimpse of that new series on VH1. It's entitled "The Agency." This new reality series basically shows the audience what it's like to work in a high-end modeling agency. I believe the one they use is Wilhelmina. For those who aren't in the fashion loop, this is one of the big boys. Anyway, it was funny to see how the agents deal with the young female models. They really had to harp on them about eating right and exercising. As though the model talent doesn't already know the deal. You'd think they'd take care of this lifestyle on their own. They either want to make money or they don't.

I can't lie. I found out the old-fashioned way that the modeling industry is pretty hardcore. After dabbling a bit in it myself, I came to the conclusion that I wasn't willing to do what it takes. To seriously become model talent and have agencies after you, you not only have to look the part, live the healthy lifestyle, and travel a great deal, you also have to be willing to do what you're told. A minor aspect that some people can't deal with. Do you have what it takes?
